Great concept! One major problem, the spring leingth is too short and the spring is not heavy duty enough. Apon removing it from the slick packaging, once I opened it full length the spring just popped out, there’s nothing holding the spring in place besides pressure but if the spring is to short then it renders the scissors/snippers totally useless! That needs to be fixed ASAP – needs reengineering. Also I would like to see the outer handgrip be black rubber instead of just hard plastic.
I love the Cuts+More Scissors which are phenomenal, but do not buy the "titanium coated" ones, BUT that’s all they make now. I have had issues with the new black blade being bent, I feel that is due to the heat treatment that needs to be applied for the titaniumcoating and that bends the blade, to me that is a quality control issue. The black Titanium coated blade is just hype so they can jack the price up. The Cut+More Scissors also can use a little bit larger finger holes and rubber grips for more comfort during extended use, I use them every day. I have men’s small/medium hands and I still find the finger holes small.
I called Fiskars and made them aware of their design and engineering issues with their products.
Not as good as the Fiskars Cuts+More for these reasons:
-Sometimes things (like hair) gets in between the blades at the hinge, and then the snips can’t cut much at all because the blades aren’t quite touching.I realize this is a problem with all scissors, but with these it’s particularly hard to get debris out from between the blades. -The shears are too big.When fully open, the widest part of the handles are 6" apart–your hands have to be very large to be able to operate the shears in a way that 1) lets the blades open reasonably wide and 2) still lets you have your fingers wrapped around the handle enough to control and squeeze the shears closed.If your palm isn’t 5" across (which is giant), I’d guess that these shears are probably too big for your hand.Seriously, these shears are not designed for the average hand. -The holster is a cool idea, but I found that the belt clip (not belt loop) slipped off of my belt almost every time I pulled the shears out, which just made things worse.
I have an older version of the Fiskars Cuts+More scissors, and I just find that they’re easier to use and do better work for almost every cutting job.
They do cut various things which is an improvement when compared to most scissors/snips.However, there is a design flaw.The spring in the handle is just a tiny bit too short.So when they open, the spring tends to fall out.We tried stretching the spring out a little but then it just bunched up.If they can fix this part of the design so that you aren’t constantly looking for the spring on the ground or having to open them manually (which isn’t easy when you’re cutting large pieces), they would have a pretty nice product.
This is my second pair of these shears. I LOVE them dearly, they are my primary tool for cutting leather for my leather craft hobby. The pair I received through this order has an issue though. The spring that opens the handles/jaws was cut about 3/8" too short so it’s constantly falling out. I’d like the seller to send a replacement spring. I just can’t figure out how to contact the seller to facilitate this action. I really don’t want to return them, I want them handy as I need them but also, the expense of sending the replacement is immensely smaller than dealing with a return.
I’m a HVAC tech/installer ,and found these on amazon . These snips are perfect for what I do well worth the money. I have cut 26ga. galvanize sheet metal,wire, nylon, plastic . They have a wire stripper built into blades which works very well for me, and a shear blade on outside of blade which cuts through flex duct support wire (very tough mat.)which ruins a lot of other snips or even some dikes\wire cutters have been ruined permanently because of that certain wire. But even after I cut through that rigid wire ,they will cut paper the same as when I took them from the packing. All thanks to fiskars for this multi tool.
Awesome snips ! Im in hvac field and i used to carry 3 to 4 diff tools to now just this one . im able to use them without the spring it comes with. The spring just falls out when opening blades to use back shear. Its the reason i gave 4 star rating, if spring was fastened some how to prevent it from jumping out. This is my second pair in which the first pair i lost sadly enough but that spring was about 5 coils longer which stayed in snip handles but preventing snips from locking and mashed inbetween handles. Now they have spring i think perfect size just need to lock it to handles then when i buy my next pair ill leave 5 star rating
This is a really nice pair of snips, I enjoy tools that are multidimensional while not being clunky, oversized, or overbearing and still manage to look good. I’ll be honest at first I didn’t like the looks of this thing, but it has proven itself a powerful and useful tool to have around for about all of its intended purposes. In hand it feels pretty good, though not perfect, and it really doesn’t look that bad. I must say though that the tape cutter/package opener on the sheath is a joke, useless for anything by snagging on clothing, and the spring comes out quite often, though it’s an easy fix. Overall I like it a lot, and a little refining could make it worth 5 stars
I am a sucker for a multifunction, scissors and otherwise. I love Fiskars and have had great success with their other scissors and various products. Unfortunately, these shears fall short. They have a nice heft and the capability of cutting through most everything. However, they frequently get jammed and don’t bounce back. So every couple snips you have to manually return them back to the open position. But don’t open them too much, or the spring just falls out!Overall, a remarkably frustrating experience.Which is not what I was look for when it comes to scissors. Sadly, these just don’t make the cut. (bud-ump bump)
