Not bad for a while but it has become an Unstable, Unreliable, frustrating router.Have had several episodes over the last 4 months of intermittent band drop off, signal fluctuation over 15 feet from the router. First the 5.0 band became unstable and would not link to any devices beyond 15 feet while the 2.4 band was more stable yet it had signal loss over 20 feet from router.Then after Firmware reload and rebooting it stabilized for a few months. Now it’s worse and even loses Ethernet (Wired) connection to 2 PCs and is again intermittent with signal losses in both bands over 15ft from router. Have reset power too many times to count. Reloaded firmware and rebooted, tried all channels for each band. They ALL have signal loss over 15ft from router ranging from -40dbm at 3ft to -55dbm to -90dbm over 15ft.Have been waiting 36 hours and counting for the phone Tech support request for a Return RMA authorization in Email.May be without this router for 5-10 business days with Amped return process, plus I have to pay for return shipment.Doubt that I will ever buy another Amped product regardless of high reviews.

Loved it at first, but after some time, it became clear that this was not a premium router.Range was nowhere near as advertised.After waiting for months for ANY firmware update, I decided to scrap it.This thing had enough bugs that I was begging support for any update to the firmware.After calling them, they told me that the router is fine and there has not been any reason to release a single update.Since scrapping it, I purchased an ASUS AC5300 and this thing is AMAZING!I live in a 3 story house plus a basement and the speed and range is through the roof.Not a single dead spot anywhere in my house (including the basement).I have only seen a 15% decrease in throughput and that is when I am 2 floors down in the far corner of the basement and that is using an N card (the ASUS supports AC cards and MIMO).IMO, when you buy a router, just stay clear of AMPED.If I could, I would give it -1 stars.RT-AC5300 Tri-Band 4×4 AC5300 Wireless 4-port Gigabit Gaming Router With AiProtection Powered by Trend Micro

First, I had high hopes for this high powered router.I live in a 5 bedroom house, 2 story, 2 of the bedrooms on first floor. The router sits on the wall in my den approximately 60 ft from the front bedroom.It will NOT send a signal to that room.I can get great coverage in the other downstairs bed room, the front room, the kitchen and all the rooms I have wireless computers upstairs.I can even take my Kindle out to the back yard about 100ft to the back fence and get internet and run Netflix.But for some reason it will not transmit a usable signal to that bedroom despite the fact that a TV and a computer in that room can see several of my neighbors networks.I have tweaked the antennas, turned off the 5 gigahertz transmitter, gone through the entire set up and nothing.I have ended up having to hard wire a connection to that room, and run an ethernet switch to get internet in there.Either my 60 year old house has one lead lined room or this router cannot do what it is advertised to do.I have also had a wireless printer go off line more than once sitting just underneath it.I cannot explain it but I have spent more than enough time being frustrated by it’s performance.It has however in the 2 months I have owned it, not failed to give us wired and wireless performance 24-7.

Purchased this router to replace a netgear FVG 318 that recently gave up the ghost.As some of the previous reviewers stated, the antenna design on this amped wireless router is not the best.They are very delicate and poorly made.Good thing that I follow instructions as it is a bit tricky putting together.Range is nowhere near what is advertised, in fact the netgear FVG 318 actually had a very similar range if not a bit better.

On the good side, customer service was very responsive and did send me out a new set of antennas to try to improve the signal range.All in all however, it was not a good purchase.

Save your money! Bought this because they advertise "high power","long range", "10 amplifiers", "high gain antennas", "for a large house" (I have a not large 1900sf house). Set up easy but doesn’t work any better than my old linksys N router as far as range. The AC is very short range, doesn’t work past the room the router is in. So it ends up being a very expensive N router.
And to preempt the Response from Amped; I did call "elite" support, figured no way it can’t even be as good as a 3-4 year old cheap router, i must have some settings wrong. Very disappointed, tech didn’t / wouldn’t go over setting with me, said if its working settings are right, no firmware updates since original build. He was not surprised it didn’t have a better range than old Linksys, said it is max FCC allows and old router is probley the same. Funny thats not how its advertised. Very misleading!
Sent it back! Amazon returns gets five stars.

i ordered this router because it claimed to have stronger signal and better coverage than the one we already had in place. it has neither. i have had nothing but trouble with this router and have to lay out additional money for yet another router to replace it. trying to figure out why my internet was not working the way it had involved a session with time warner, 6 hours on the phone with apple care on two separate days and two professionals coming to the houseto figure out the problem by the rocess of elimination. we finally solved the mystery…it was the router. all this investigating took time and now the 30 day return window has closed and i am stuck with this expensive and ineffective router. the new one works perfectly and i certainly wish i had known more sooner.
