The PERFECT tablet for college students. You’ll want to buy the Type cover and Surface pen to truly reap the benefits of this beautiful piece of technology, not that it isn’t the best tablet on the market by itself but with those two accessories it transforms from an awesome tablet into the most efficient study device ever. What makes it so great?
1. Note Taking. If you’re not using OneNote yet, youshould check it out. exam week is just that much less stressful when you have all your notes saved to the cloud instead of having to flip through notebooks to find the information you need, and it eliminates the problem of spiral bound notebooks starting to tear up and even losing pages over the course of a semester. On top of that, thanks to the Surface Pen and palm blocking technology, you can still take handwritten notes if you prefer and store them in the cloud, or simply use the pen to draw diagrams or pictures into your typed notes so you don’t have to try and find them in a slide show your professor may or may not have remembered to post online. The BEST part about this is that withing OneNote, or whatever program you prefer, you can search within the text: so instead of flipping through your notebook, finally finding the right notes, and then having to read through the entire page to find the information you’re looking for, you just ctrl+f and its right there.
2. Computing power. It uses Intel processors and runs off Windows 10, which truly delivers the processing power of a full-on laptop in tablet form. That means real web browsing, word processing, video editing, etc… not crappy mobile versions. But it’s still a tablet, not clunky like the other 2-in-ones where you just flip the screen around and pretend its a tablet… even though its still the size of a laptop.
3. Compatibility. The Surface has bluetooth, wifi, and 4g data capabilities (with certain models). It also has 3 USB ports and an HDMI output, and, as an improvement over its predecessor, the Surface Pro 3, uses a micro-USB charger. What this means is it can connect to the internet anywhere, and can work with countless other devices via bluetooth and its multiple USB ports, such as mice, speakers, external hard drives or flash drives, or even CD/DVD drives. It is compatible with different screens via HDMI, which is useful for presentations, or just to hook up to your TV to watch Netflix. And it charges via mini-USB so extra chargers are extremely cheap and easy to come by, which was one of the few issues I had with the Surface Pro.

I am switching back after living in apple world for 5 years, so there is that learning curve but the surface is very well made and I have no problem with the quality of the product at all. The screen is perfectly fine and easy to navigate. I find the fact that it’s a touch screen with a keyboard which I also purchased is making this transition easier. If you are considering making this purchase, and are older like I am, give yourself time to adjust to the learning curve and know that it will eventually feel like home. I really like that the price has gone down considerably and in less than a year. I know there is always something "better" around the corner, but this one is tried and true and very good, especially now that the price has decreased.

So far the Surface 3 is meeting my expectations, where we all have different expectations from an tablet device.I’ve owned the Asus Transformer (android), which met some of my needs but was slow, buggy and required multiple restarts.I currently own a Toshiba Chrome Book.This device works great for many of my needs, but still doesn’t provide all that I need or expected.Now enter the Surface 3.Size and weight are great for my traveling needs, the keyboard options was a good add on, still playing with the stylus pen and added a bluetooth mouse.Now I’m getting close to what I wanted, a compact and versatile laptop replacement.The operating system, Windows 10 is pretty solid and works smoothly on the Surface, but I still have some reservations with it, as features/apps I use to enjoy on Win 7 were missing on 10 but available through the app store.Just not sure why so few selections and/or why most include obnoxious ads thrown in your face.Read them carefully before installing, the ones without the ads are there, but you have to dig deep to find them or pay big dollars for the ones without the ads.I did download Chrome on here and it’s working flawlessly, just like on my desktop and Chrome book.All of the bloatware apps that came on windows 10 were removed.Several apps I’m use to using were replaced by familiar ones from the Chrome Store.So all in all, I’m getting the experience I want on a tablet.

The one I bought was the 128/4 gig ram version, where experience over the past years taught me that storage and ram are important.I have a 64 gig micro ssd card installed, but in time I’m sure I’ll get the 128 gig one.So far everything I’ve thrown at the Surface 3 is working smoothly.

So if you’re looking for the best of multiple worlds, this one should meet up to your expectations.Easily customized to your needs and lacking in few.

I’ve read several reviews prior to and more after I bought the Surface referencing charging issues.After sleuthing the web I happened up a workaround solution a Surface blog.It doesn’t require anything special, just reversing what we’ve been doing all these years.
1.Make sure the charger is unplugged from the electrical outlet.
2.Plug the Micro USB into the Surface
3.Plug the USB into the charger
4.Plug the charger into the electrical outlet.
Yup, Bass Ackwards from what we’ve been doing, but no more charging concerns.

Sin embargo, cualquier poseedor de una tableta Android o IOs hace lo mismo con Apps así que es relativo eso del uso. Además, la conveniencia de poder instalar programas ejecutables y no sólo de la tienda es algo que no puede hacer en otras.
Es rápida, fluida, el panel táctil funciona increíble. El lápiz agrega funciones con OneNote que son increíbles. El teclado es fantástico. En suma: la reina de las tabletas pequeñas.
