I am not an HP fan for computers. Printers, yes. Computers, not so much.
My history with HP computers has been one wrought with failures, crashes, loss of data, software conflicts, you name it. It all added up to a very unsatisfying experience.
However…..After buying this one on a whim (because of the price) after a motherboard burnout on another computer, I am totally surprised at its performance and ease of use.
PRO: The features it has are more than adequate for the moderate demand I wanted it for. Primarily office type demands, Photo processing, music etc. The on board video outputs, vga & hdmi, allowed me to do a dual monitor set up with virtually no lag between and link to my home theatre with excellent HD. The USB-3 inputs are more than adequate for most needs. Mic / headphone inputs are standard and the audio out handles surround sound well. After extending the use to more demanding projects…video and audio production, it performed well. There was some slowdown due to the high end demand, but it did hold its own.
I didn’t expect it to perform as well as my work horse, but I just wanted to see if it could. And it ran cool and quiet under load.
I did like the fact that it had no bloatware included. There was the standard antivirus which I uninstalled and replaced with one that i preferred. Office was negligible as I had my own I use.
Con: None as yet. I will update this as time and usage increases.
Highly recommended by someone who previously was not a fan.

Arrive in superbpacking and working extremely well. Lots of new designs and features on the Windows 7, I was scare to try Windows 8. I play lots of games and the experience with that has been great, no more crashes like my old computer. Only negative drawback was no free microsoft office works. Love the quickness of looking at web sites, no sitting and falling asleep at the keyboard. Nice design and looks very attractive on my desk. Features are below:

I had recently purchased a new computer with Windows 8 installed on it, and after using it for a few days, I returned it because I HATED Windows 8.Hate is not too strong a word.I am not a computer novice, I used to be a computer trainer before I retired, so I know how to use computers and was anxious to see what Windows 8 was all about.But after using it, I found that I hated everything about it returned the computer.I immediately started looking for a new HP computer with Windows 7 on it.I found this awesome HP computer with Windows 7 on Amazon and I have loved every minute of using it.It is super fast and came with a really nice wireless keyboard and mouse.It is going to be harder and harder to find new computers with Windows 7 installed on them.If you are in the market for a great computer at a great price, get one of these treasures before they are gone.You won’t regret it.

I’ve had a few issues with this desktop, mainly with the pre-loaded programs. It appears that I have been able to resolve the issues so far.I have made a telephone call to HP Support and this service is worthless. After waiting almost 25 minutes to get someone to answer my call, I got a heavily-accented HP representative who demonstrated a “zero ability” to comprehend my questions, and then I suppose he was so frustrated that he disconnected and never called back. What a sorry experience with HP Support! This desktop comes with a 30-day free trial McAfee Live Security on-line scanning protection package. When the trial period expired, I telephoned McAfee Support to check on a McAfee product that my employer offers free for home-based computer users. This was another sad situation and a sad experience. Again, I had to wait close to 25 minutes for someone to answer my telephone call. My call to McAfee was answered by yet another heavily-accented representative, who knew nothing about my employer’s agreement with McAfee for a free product for home use. In fact, this representative proceeded to advise me that a free program is worthless, and he told me that my desktop was full of viruses and malware after I permitted him to access my desktop. He stated that my desktop was about to crash and attempted numerous times to sell 1-year, 2-year, and 3-year McAfee products. The 1-year product was “only” $109, while the 3-year product was “only” $399; almost as much as I paid for this HP desktop. Needless to say, I continued to tell the representative I did not want to purchase anything from McAfee. What is more interesting is that the pop-up ads that the McAfee representative saw on my desktop had been showing up during the first week of operating this desktop; in spite of the “wonderful” McAfee security trial product. I like this desktop because it is an improvement over my old HP Windows VISTA desktop; therefore, the 4-star rating. If I based my rating for this desktop on the HP and McAfee support service experiences I have had, the rating would be a minus 10 stars! When are HP and McAfee support services going to learn that when I live in the United States and speak English, I want to speak with a support technician that I can clearly understand! Does anyone else agree?

DO NOT BUY - this X2, or for that matter any HP product.I bought 2 of these on Black Friday 2014 (1.5 years ago).
Story 1: The first one died today. First, the keyboard is not recognized, checked all settings, restarted - still no keyboard. When I shut down, the unit will not turn back on - at all.Cost me a paid install of the MSOffice Suite, 3 days ago.
Story 2: Today, I opened the 2nd and noticed the touch screen bulged/warped out of its back casing.Called HP Tech Support - to repair/replace they will charge me $230. Out of warranty I get it, but its a (absolute) manufacturer defect. I thought, my return (I am sure) will help their R&D, etc. The Tech Assist Rep insisted, it will cost me $230 outright, upon their receipt of the unit/I have to pay ship back.Please check photos - I have a witness.First, it was a warped screen, until we heard a 'pop' and a component inside inflated it seems - causing for the screen to separate from the back casing. This was stored in a room where 5 other computers had been operating (ON), more time than this is stored.
DO NOT BUY ANY HP PRODUCT -- they are DEFECTIVELY designed and manufactured.I am concerned what's inflating is the battery, known to catch FIRE.

I had an IRULU W1000 32GB tablet that I bought from Amazon for $240. That tablet was great, but the power switch design was flawed and it failed within a month. (IRULU has since changed their product design, so this is no longer an issue.) I was originally going to purchase another IRULU tablet, but then I came across this for $210 for the same 32GB of storage. I read the reviews, and I was nervous about it at first, but I figured if it did have the problems people were mentioning in their reviews I could send it back to Amazon for a refund and just get another IRULU like I had planned on. The day I received the tablet, I powered it up and immediately discovered that the keyboard wasn't working, which was one of the complaints listed in the reviews I'd read. I was upset. But then I reseated the tablet in the keyboard dock and never had another keyboard problem again. Yes, the keyboard isn't the greatest, but I type hard anyway so it's just a matter of remembering to type like I would on a regular keyboard instead of trying to treat the thing with kid gloves. The one issue I've had, which may not be related to the keyboard at all, is that sometimes the first character you type in a field never actually appears. It's like the tablet wasn't ready for your input or something. But if you wait half a second before you start typing, this doesn't happen.

Performance-wise, this is a budget tablet and you should expect budget tablet performance... but you don't get that. You get much better than you would expect at this price point. The quad-core Bay Trail CPU in this thing just hauls... and coupled with a flash memory storage device, it's more than sufficient for most light-duty tasks you would do on a tablet. Is it a Surface Pro 3? No... so don't try to use it like one. You're likely not going to get good handwriting performance on this thing without an active stylus, it's not going to run a bunch of applications at once... but it will do light-duty web browsing, games, etc. It also works great as a Steam streaming device, so if you have a computer running Steam, you can stream your games to the tablet and it will work just fine. Also, it has front-facing speakers and the screen is crystal clear, so it's great for watching movies on. You also get a full-size USB port which is advertised as being USB 3.0, but I haven't tested that yet... regardless, the addition of a full-size USB port means you have a wide range of accessories you can connect to the tablet, such as mice, keyboards, etc. It also has mini-HDMI out as well. In theory, you *could* use this as a light-duty desktop replacement by connecting a USB hub with a mouse and keyboard connected to that, and a monitor via HDMI... but I wouldn't recommend it. What's the point of having a tablet with a touch screen if you're... never going to use the touch screen functionality? One last note: Do yourself a favor and buy at least a 64GB microSD card to throw in this thing to add extra storage space. I believe it will handle up to 128GB... I have a 64GB card in it and it works fine. For $~30, you're not going to beat that cost to triple your storage space on this tablet.

One of the major, MAJOR plusses of this device? The battery life is RIDICULOUS. My previous IRULU tablet lasted maybe four hours, even on standby. This thing will run literally the entire day even under a decent workload. I've gone two days without charging this device numerous times and it still has enough juice to get me through most of the second day before I absolutely have to charge it (assuming I haven't been playing Solitaire on it all day, lol).

Another nice side of this tablet is the way the keyboard and the tablet link up. I've read a number of reviews where people complained about the magnetic keyboard stand and how it doesn't hold the tablet up correctly, etc. From my experience, those people just didn't know what they were doing. I've never had any issues with the stand. The tablet has two magnetic points across the back which you can CLEARLY feel once you position the keyboard's stand against them. After that, don't bang on the touchscreen and expect the magnet to hold... When you're not using the tablet, the keyboard cover is very solidly held against the tablet. It almost feels like a netbook when you have the case closed. The design takes a little getting used to, but I like it.

Bottom line? Yeah, you might get a bum unit. It's always a possibility. And it may not fail right out of the box. There's always that possibility too. So cover yourself: Buy the 1 year warranty with the extra $30 you're saving compared to most of the competitors in this range (assuming you get the 32GB version), and give it a shot. If your unit fails, get a replacement. Because this tablet is good enough to give a second chance.

I bought this notebook to replace an aging Toshiba netbook that I had given away.The main draw for me was that it was compact enough to go anywhere, but could also double as a tablet if I wanted it to.I had had issues with another notebook/tablet hybrid from a company called Nextbook that I had purchased a couple months before.It worked fine for a month, and then went completely dead.I bought it through Walmart.com, and since it was during the holiday season with the extended return policy in effect they took it back and refunded my purchase price, no questions asked, as even though it was under warranty I did not want a replacement.

I bought the HP Pavilion X2 the next day, and got it shipped via Prime.The first one I got had an issue where the machine was not able to find the keyboard.I tried several things and eventually called HP support directly.They diagnosed the problem and gave me several options to remedy the situation.They were very helpful and courteous and helped me immensely.In the end, I chose to return it to Amazon as it seemed to be the quickest way to get a replacement (and I needed one fairly soon, as I planned to use it on a trip).Their hardware support manager (I believe his name is Vijay?) even called me three times to make sure that I was able to get it replaced and that I was satisfied with their service.Where are you going to find that nowadays?I've always liked HP's products and this experience reminded me why.

I went online and requested to return the device, and Amazon shipped me a replacement the same day, even BEFORE they received the defective laptop.When I got the replacement I plugged it in and everything worked exactly as expected.The keyboard works well with the tablet and it's fast enough and powerful enough for my fairly simple needs (web surfing, some Office use, web development).If you're looking for a portable, inexpensive and easy-to-use replacement for a Windows laptop, I'd definitely recommend this machine.
