Good gaming laptop…..
Pros:
-Steelseries KB is cool
-970m gfx card is very very fast
-Screen is nice overall
-Stays pretty cool
-Not terribly loud when gaming
-A dedicated Button allows turning both fans on for max cooling(when just doing regular activities only one fan runs.)
-Not overly large for a 17.3 laptop
-Max CPU temp I have seen was 85c
-GPU stays remarkably cool 55 or so max temps
-Lots of room for expansion on m.2 slots and raid if I want.

Cons:
-This thing is a fingerprint magnet, and difficult to clean the surface
-Keyboard gets a little toasty when gaming
-Needs more aluminum on the body(underside especially)
-Keyboard is red during boot, which is annoying to me.
-Had some driver issue which locked my network devices from working(they worked fine but would not communicate with the IP stack in win 10)
-Intel 5600 graphics card needs some better drivers, have some wonky scrolling in firefox and chrome. Nowhere else is a problem, but never had an issue with my old HP DV6T.
-Restore disk creator needed 6 DVD’s. Ridiculous.
-Touchpad is meh.
-Battery life is pretty crummy, but I dont expect to do much traveling with this machine. I will use my MacBook for that.

Overall I am pretty happy. Ordered a skin for the lid, so fingerprints will not be a problem anymore.

I’ve been testing it for a couple of days and I must say that it has a really good performance for its price. The screen is really big and it has an amazing display. The only thing about it is that when gaming, the laptop can get pretty hot and the fans can also be pretty loud, but I’d still say that it’s totally worth it (because they are just minor things). The keyboard is really nice and I like the feature to change up the colors. As I mentioned before, it has a really good performance, I can run The Witcher 3 with max settings perfectly.

A good inversion if you are looking for a really powerful laptop at a reasonable price!

Still have to put it through more paces to be sure.But so far I really like this computer.The one thing I was concerned about was the keyboard – it doesn’t use up the available space and looks like it was designed for a 15-inch then mounted to this 17-inch package.But, it doesn’t feel crowded, and shortens/quickens my keystrokes just a bit.

This gaming laptop has awesome hardware, I couldn’t find anything better with this price range. I love the SSD, windows comes on in less than 7s. Video card is amazing… I’m running most of the games in very high getting +60 in most of them. Unfortunately, I got some problems with the multi language pack that comes in the windows. I had to RESET my PC 2 times because of the windows update, that was frustrating cause I lost all apps previously installed. Other than that, it’s a nice choice for gaming laptop with a reasonable price.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with this laptop. I purchased it as a gaming computer for a long work stay in another state.However, I’ll need to send it in for repair as there is a bright yellow tint when the screen is black. This might be due to the 120+ degree weather in Arizona and the lack of air conditioning in the UPS truck.Hopefully the warranty will cover this, but I have seen other complaints about it.

It’s fast, quiet, and does the job well.
